We live in troubled times. That's because we live in a troubled world. This is a world that needs a Savior. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and He wants to be your personal Savior. The Bible says that "All have sinned and come short of the Glory of God." You and I have broken God's commandments and broken His heart. That makes us sinners, and the wages of sin is death. But that is not God's ultimate plan for us. He is not willing that any should perish. He has provided a way for us to turn from sin and receive the Gift of eternal life! When Jesus died, He paid the penalty that our sins deserve. He became our substitute. He carried our sin, sickness and poverty to the cross. There He satisfied the justice of God. Now that the penalty is paid God can lavish His amazing love upon us. When you trust Jesus to save you and repent of your sin God gives you the free gift of eternal life. You can't earn it. You don't deserve it. It's not because you've been good but because HE'S been good! You have the sure hope of heaven in the future and the comforting promise of His presence right now in this life no matter what life may bring your way. Pray right now..."Heavenly Father, I need You! I believe you sent Jesus to die on the cross in my place. I believe that Jesus is raised from the dead. I confess that I am a sinner. I receive your forgiveness. From this day forward I am born again and Jesus is Lord!"
Health is a blessing from God sickness is a curse from the devil. Jesus said, "The thief comes only in order to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come in order that you might have life---life in all its fullness." John 10:10
Sin and sickness are our twin enemies. They are tools the devil uses to steal, kill, and destroy. Thank God that Jesus takes care of both. "Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases." Psalm 103:2
Jesus carried our sin, sickness and poverty to the cross. "Surely He has borne our sicknesses, and He carried our pain; yet we esteemed Him plagued, smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His wounds we ourselves are healed." Isaiah 53:4-5
When Jesus was on earth He was the perfect expression of His Father's will. (See Hebrews 1:3) He always did everything that pleased the father (See John 8:29) Jesus never made anyone sick, poor or miserable. Read the Gospels, Mathew, Mark, Luke and John and you will see Him healing everyone that came to Him. No one was ever denied no matter how severe the case. Thank God Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever! (Hebrews 13:8)
Jesus put the gifts of healing in the hands of believers. It is part of the great commission. "He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." (Mark 16:15-18)
Pray right now..."Heavenly Father, You are the Lord who heals me! I believe you sent Jesus to carry my sin, sickness and poverty to the cross. I believe that Jesus rose from the dead victorious over the all the power of Satan. By faith I confess that by His stripes I am healed. In Jesus Name!
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19
God is a God of abundance and He promises to meet our needs physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially. It is God who gives us the power to get wealth. (See Deuteronomy 8:18) Prosperity is a blessing; poverty is a curse. In the twenty eighth Chapter of Deuteronomy God promises blessings of material blessing as a reward for obedience and warns poverty, sickness and disaster as the sure consequence of unfaithfulness and disobedience to His commands.
Prosperity goes hand in hand with generosity. Jesus said, "Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you." (Luke 6:38)
The Apostle Paul compares it to planting seeds. "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work." (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
How much should a Christian give? The Bible teaches the principle of tithing; that means ten percent. The tithe belongs to God and as a matter of faith we give ten percent of our income to Him. (See Malachi 3:8-12) Anything beyond that is a free will offering.
God will not bless a lazy person. Lazy hands bring poverty, but hard-working hands bring riches. (Proverbs 10:4) The Apostle Paul puts it this way, "If any (person) would not work, neither should he eat." (2 Thessalonians 3:10)
God also wants us to use wisdom in handling money matters. "A good man shows favor, and lends: he will guide his affairs with discretion." (Psalm 112:5) All that we have is really God's anyway we are entrusted with it as a steward. "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." (1Corinthians 4:2)
If you are in financial trouble ask God for wisdom... He promises to give wisdom to all who ask. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him." (James 1:5) Pray for God's direction and then follow the directions He gives you by His Spirit and through His Word. God will come through for you! "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." (Matthew 6:33)
